PhoneBox - handsfree, recording calls for smartphones App Reviews

The device was discovered and connected (using Samsung Note 3 and MacBook Pro 15 2013). Contacts appeared in the app. When I clicked on one and pressed call button, PhoneBox first hanged, than app crashed. The product is still in beta in my opinion. Developers, please test and fix the issue. There is a big potential in this.

The app is not working like it should, the windows to call and handup is not working…Customer support never reply to email and never call you back. I contact them 5 times in 2 weeks and still waiting for support…

This application is awful. It will not connect with my iPhone 5. At all. Try Phone Amego instead. It seems to actually work. More expensive, yeah, but it does what this applicaiton is supposed to.

The app connects to my iPhone 5 with no issues (the instructions are a bit confusing though). Sound quality is decent. Pros: -No longer disconnect from your computer screen in order to take calls. -On screen and audio notifications of incoming calls -Gives on-screen options of where to answer Cons: -Needs keypad while in calls (Currently cannot enter extension numbers, etc once a call is placed -If you try to decline a call for with call waiting, it hangs up both calls. -Menu Bar icon flashes when you click it (as if it is trying to open the app screen) but does nothing - thus requiring an app icon in the dock to make it accessible. Overall, not a bad option. Hopefully they will continue to work out bugs and issues to make this app really a usable business tool rather than just a neat add-on.

Works as directed. But the ap takes up space in both the dock and the menu bar. It needs a keypad to enter extension numbers once a call is connected. I’m using it and recommend it, but hopefully the developer will issue a new version with improvements.

Having so many issues after connecting, it’s just a pure waste of money. I wish I could get my money back seeing as after 5 minutes I no longer have any use of a faulty application. By the way, there is no customer support. The website doesn’t have an email, chat, contact number…NOTHING. If you plan on buying this product, don’t expect any support whatsoever. I have MANY applications on my macbook, and let me just say I have NEVER posted a negative review, even when I few were deserved

Used this app for 2 weeks. It is cool thing. Now I am receiving calls on Macbook. Sound quality is good. The phone could be anywhere and I can access it. Also the notifications is great! App does what it says. One thing I request SMS.

i use a blackberry and this app simply does not work at all. It will keep spinning with a “connecting” message forever. Wasted my money. Ended up buying another App that works perfectly. The other App is cheaper and works

I use this app with Iphone4S. The sound quality is very inconsistent. Sometimes, it is ok, sometimes, it is unusable and I have to scramble to find my phone. I don’t have the echo issue mentioned by others since I use the headset. The interface can be improved. The reconnect wizard is very annoying, if the same phone reconnects successfully, close the wizard! Also, a single click should bring up the menu, not double. Be consistent with the UI behavior of the rest of the system! I cannot recommend this app to others at this point but hope it can address some of these issues in future releases.

This is a terrific app for answering ur cell phone calls right on ur computer. It’s terrific to be able to record calls for business or education. I have an imac & iPhone 5s & it really works well. It does take a couple of tries to pair the phone with the computers Bluetooth but dont give up its worth it.

I am usually busy with computer work, and I do not want to be distracted from phone push alerts so I always lock my phone in a drawer. But doing so means I will also miss all the phone calls. I havent found a solution until I find this app. I read some previous not-so-positive reviews before I thought I would still give this app a try. And I do not regret it. I just made and received phone calls on my computer, without touching my phone, thanks to this app. The sound is clear, without any static. This app is amazing. Thanks to the developer!

i spend more time on my mac than outside. so if there is an app can help me anwsering my calls by my mac it will be awesome and i am always looking for such an app. now here it is. Phonebox is such a great app to meet my demand. i can get alerts or answer the calls by my mac without using my iPhone. Great!

What an useful app it is.With it I can use Macbook to call as phone.So convenient!Everyone should have a try!

This app would be great is Apple supported pairing your Macbook with you iphone. Unfortunately, they do not.

Bought it. Installed. Paired my mid-2012 rMBP to my 5s. Made call. Received call. All works fine!

I have been pleased with the way it works with my MacBook Air running 10.9.3. Calls are clear. There is a bit of an echo on my end but so far nobody can tell that I am talking to them from my computer. The only issue and it is annoying is that the app doesn’t reconnect to my iPhone when I come back into the office without a hang or two. At that point it locks up my computer for several seconds.

The lite version worked fine, so I bought the paid version but now I am quite disappointed at having wasted my money on it. It connects to the phone and then disconnects immediately. I can not use it any longer!

Very poor interface. App is poorly designed and clutters the screen with multiple windows. During a call, one window remains constantly in the foreground preventing you from working with other apps. For example, if you’re talking to someone and discussing a spreadsheet, this foreground window will obstruct your viewing the spreadsheet. The dial pad must be clicked with a mouse, it won’t take input from your keyboard or keypad. Very unfriendly and unthoughtful interface. I’m uninstalling it from sheer aggravation.
